Copper boiler workshop CUPRUM, with a tradition of 72 years produces copper boilers with capacity from 20 to 600 liters exclusivelly by hand.
It takes twenty days of hard work and a lot of skill to hammer a single 100 liter boiler. The boilers are made according to predefined dimensions and measurements. Each boiler is unique as all the details are being adjusted to the customer’s wishes.
The three gold medals that were won at the Novi Sad Agricultural Fair are the best confirmation of our quality.
The manual fabrication of the boilers by hammering provides a more compact copper structure, unlike machine-made boilers. Namely, machine-made boilers are made with pressure technology, where the copper plate is pressured to a particular shape whereby the thickness of the metal sheet is flattened.
The advantage of hand-made boilers is that the metal sheets are thicker and therefore they are easier to be shaped by heating, they are then cooled and solidified by the copper hammering method. Hand made boilers are more durable due to the more compact structure, providing a higher quaility spirit with a higher alcohol content. All stages of the boiler making, from tailoring to shaping and assemblying are done by hand, however smaller parts are machine-processed, which makes this work more precise.
This type of condenser is used to create reflux in distillation columns to produce high percentage spirit. The way it works is vapor rises through the column and when the vapor hits the cool condenser the heavier water vapors condense back to liquid and drop down through the column and the lighter alcohol vapors carry over.
The deflegmator or reflux column is a device that extracts methyl alcohol in a single process, so no brandy baking is required. In addition, the cylindrical cooler, unlike the spiral one, has three times larger cooling surface, which is the reason why the alcohol vapor condensation effect is much better.
